4:30 create reference layer, rename and lock
8:06 adjust threshold for drag and drop color
8:40 multiply color layer to keep color behind black lines
9:00 select areas by using select ribbon and automatic mode, then fill layer from color layer
13:05 quick shape to adjust shapes
15:00 select layer and fill layer to fill/change color on all shapes in that layer
17:00 using clipping mask layer below another layer to use as “stencil”
20:25 and 29:05 select layer to selectively color certain areas
22:40 press and hold to select color
24:25 using an image / texture as a clipping mask
25:30 creating a gradient in a clipping mask
26:40 blend modes
33:10 select a layer, add a layer above to add/change colors on those areas

PS. I usually use printer pro app to just print the one page I want direct to pdf then convert using scanner pro (another app by readdle) to just convert that file quickly to jpg. But if you ever want to convert your coloring books in bulk, you can use any of the following free online tools:
– pdf2go.com
– online-convert.com
– pdf2png.com
– lunapic.com 💜 this tool does everything

Every time I drag the color on a spit it fills in the whole thing what do I do?

I am a little late to this, but I was wondering how is the best way to get a favourite colouring books in to Procreate. I have a iPad mini 2. And I have a few favourite books I want to colour but have a fear of recking
it. I think that it would be great to be able to get them down loaded into Procreate. Then I wouldn’t be afraid of rune my favourite books.

I have been looking for a tutorial just like this … it was perfect … so much great info! I definitely wouldn't be disappointed if you made another one lol, especially touching even more on how to add shadows/highlights etc (hint hint lol 😀) … but thank you again for this tutorial 🤗 … I actually like to color adult coloring books and I use colored pencils but I am HORRIBLE at picking out colors, SO I first color it digitally and then once I am happy with the colors and placements, I will then use that as my "cheat sheet" for my coloring my pages with my pencils 🙂

Can you color using using the shading like you did on the petals, or adding a line of shine? I don’t like the drag and fill, seems too tedious. Plus I need to work on a coloring page that has lots of scales on a mermaid. 😊 I want to make them individual colored/shaded.
